Dermal Fillers, Collagen, Fat Grafts, Radiesse, etc.
- Procedure -
Plump up
creased, furrowed, or sunken facial skin or scars; add fullness to lips and backs of
hands. Works best on thin, dry, light-colored skin.
- Length -
15 minutes
to 1 hour per session for office procedures. 2 hours for outpatient
procedures.
- Anaesthesia -
Collagen -
usually none, however local may be included with the injection.
Radiesse - local anaesthesia. Fat grafts - General or local with IV
sedation.
- In/Outpatient - Office or Outpatient.
- Side effects - Stinging,
Throbbing, Burning sensation, Faint redness, Swelling, Excess fullness.

Risks -
Collagen -
Allergic reaction, Rash, Hives, Swelling, Flu-like symptoms, possible
triggering of connective-tissue or autoimmune diseases. (A skin test is
required before collagen treatment to determine whether an allergy exists.),
Infection, Contour irregularities.

Recovery -
Back to
work same day for office procedures. Less than one week for outpatient
procedures. Normal appearance 1 to 3 weeks. Strenuous
activity 2 to 4 weeks.
